How does AI impact business?
I get asked a lot as to what AI means for business and how it is going to impact us all.
However I believe the question needs to be aimed at what it means for the customers…
Think about it, you have managed to offload a load of tasks over to a bot, trained it to “automate your workflow” like lots of up and coming software’s are claiming.
Yes you are automating your tasks, but why were you in charge of that task in the first place.
Your “artwork” which you just chucked through AI looks great to the normal eye, but where is the personality of your business in that artwork? Why should someone choose you over a competitor if you all look the same?
Your “automated” help centre has great results increasing solved times without having a CS team running through tickets, but you haven’t understood it’s because most people don’t bother trying to speak to your bot which runs them in circles when asking a question.
Your business isn’t going to have a competitive edge by automating every process, draining the life and personality out of it, you are just going to be throwing more sh*£t at the wall to hope something sticks.
There is nothing wrong with using automation to assist, want a quick CAD mock up for a sign? No problem, but it isn’t the final thing which gives your business personality.
Using bots for your helpchat, no problem, however when you can’t answer the question, make it so someone is on the other end to think outside of the coded box.
Starting up my own company back in April I got lots of following just on being helpful, dependable and making sure that I was the service, not just my product. This is something which is missing within larger companies as they remove their team for bots.
In short, AI working is here but don’t let it strip what made your business YOUR business.
